Before you begin...

This web uses two different page layouts. They exist as page templates: Guitar Blue and Guitar Blue 2.

Both of these page template use the Guitar Blue theme. However, Guitar Blue 2 does not have Vivid Colors turned on.

When you first create your new web, you may need to check all your pages to make sure that the theme has been applied. If you do not see any navigation buttons (only navigation text), this means that your theme has not been applied. If some pages have the wrong text colors, you will have to go through and make some changes. Please follow instructions below.

Page Layout 1 FAQ

Why doesn't the background show where the vertical navigation is?

The vertical navigation "box" may look black (FP2000) or white (FP2002). Don't worry, it will look right in a browser. Go to File/Preview In browser. (For your information, the cell with the vertical navigation has a blank, transparent gif as the background. This is necessary for the page to look right in Netscape, but FrontPage does not render the background in Normal view.)

How do I get rid of the Home/Map/Contact buttons?

If you want to get rid of the Home/Map Contact buttons, you must replace them with a spacer graphic. Click on each graphic and delete them. After deleting them, insert "spacer.gif" from the images folder, then resize it to 250 pixels wide by 23 pixels high.

How do I change the background images?

You may get rid of the banner background (the orange guitar). Right-click in the cell, select Cell Properties, and uncheck "Background Picture."

You may also change the vertical navigation background. Right-click (see left), select Cell Properties, and browse to the images folder to choose vertbg.jpg (blank), vertbg1.jpg (person playing guitar), vertbg2.jpg (guitar), or vertbg3.jpg (hand strumming guitar). (You must be using the web template to access these other images.)

How do I fix the width of the page?

At the bottom of the page is an extra blank row. Right-click anywhere inside the row and select "Table Properties." Change the width to a fixed pixel width and make sure that the table is aligned left.

Page Layout 2 FAQ

How do I get rid of the Home/Map/Contact buttons?

For this layout, you may simply delete the top row. Bring your mouse to the left border of the column until an arrow appears, then click. This should select the top row. Then right-click and select Delete Cells.

How do I get rid of the top guitar image?

There are actually two images. First, delete the top part of the guitar. Then, you may get rid of the banner background. Right-click in the cell, select Cell Properties, and uncheck "Background Picture."

How do I change the width of the page?

This page has been set for viewing at 800x600. This page cannot expand to more than 800x600 or else the guitar background will begin to repeat. The layout has been set to 750 pixels wide. You may change this width. At the bottom of the page is an extra blank row. Right-click anywhere in the last row and select "Table Properties." Change the width from 750 to your width.
